Dr Jart+ Vital Hydra Solution Biome Essence Review

Essence’s & hydrating toners are the biggest thing at the moment within the skincare universe.  Dr Jart has their own – the Vital Hydra Solution Biome Essence. Never wanting to miss a beat when it comes to skincare products, I wanted to try an essence that looked interesting to me.   

My Review

This product boasts intensive skin strengthening and hydrating elements designed to calm and repair irritated skin and restore hydration. Perfect – I thought to myself – as truthfully my skin had been a little irritated from a Salicylic Acid toner I had been using to get rid of some acne on my temples.  This essence contains:-

• Jartbiome technology – Dr.Jart’s skin microbiome complex which helps balance good microorganisms living on the service of the skin
• Triple hyaluronic acid complex to draw in moisture for plump and supple skin
• Hydra-Nutrition 2X to lock in moisture

The packaging of this product is aesthetically pleasing, I am sure it’ll sit nicely for a shelfie if you’re into that.  It has a slight scent – one that I can’t quite put my finger on to describe.  The smell is not unpleasant, but it’s not like it’s purposely been made to smell good.  Any scent the product gives off disappears as soon as it is applied to your face.

After cleansing my face, I apply a few drops to my hands and pat gently into my face.  It sinks in within seconds but leaves a slight tacky feel on the skin.

I can definitely say that my skin felt more hydrated after using this product.  It simply felt as though my skin had a good drink of water.  I’m pleased it seems to play well with my usual serums, moisturisers and SPF – so it hasn’t caused anything to pill which is a good sign!

Would I repurchase?

If I had to be honest, I’m not entirely sure if it was capable of calming or repairing my irritated skin, it would help but it wouldn’t resolve it in the way a barrier repairing serum/moisturiser would.  There’s actually another Dr.Jart product that I found did a much better job of this – the Ceramidin Moisturizing Toner Liquid.   If you’ve got budget concerns, I would probably skip this one and look at a Dr.Jart+ moisturiser instead.   It’s a nice product to have, but only if you don’t mind spending £15.00 for a 50ml essence.

Would I Repurchase?

I wouldn’t be opposed to repurchasing it, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy it again.
