Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Review

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel

Let’s just appreciate the beautiful colour of the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel. This is a cult favourite amongst skincare enthusiasts.

My Review

I find it to be an utterly enjoyable lightweight, oil free moisturiser and I think it would be flawless for oily and acne prone skin types. It nicely is formulated with hyaluronic acid to help hydrate the skin and glycerin, a superb skin-replenishing ingredient.

The texture of this product is gorgeous and so is the look. It has an ocean spray blue colouring to it, which arouses images in your mind of water and the hydrating experience you are about to undergo.

It glides onto the skin effortlessly and dries quickly without leaving a wet or greasy look to the skin. Afterwards my skin always feels super soft. For people who like a dewy glow after moisturising, I wouldn’t say this product will give you that but applying a few drops of facial oil over the top will help you achieve that look. When applied it has a nice cooling effect on the skin which is impeccable during the warmer months of the year and does not ever feel tacky.

There is a scent to it which comes from the fragrance that is in this product, which I can only describe in my mind as florally/aqua-y, but not in a feminine way. I personally do not mind fragrance in my skincare and I actually quite like it.

It plays well with other products and serums. I’ve never experienced any pilling after using this product.

Would I repurchase?

My skin type is dry/dehydrated. I wouldn’t say this moisturiser is good enough for times when my skin is feeling super dehydrated and as such I probably wouldn’t recommend this for people with dry skin. I like it for the day time in the Summer months, but not so much for the night time as I prefer a more heavy weight cream.
