This is one of my newer skincare purchases that I’ve been testing recently. The Dr Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Calming Gel Cream is designed to calm and nourish your skin and reduce the visibility of redness. Does it live up to its promise? Let’s find out!
My Review
There are some fantastic soothing ingredients in this product such as Centella Asiatica (Tiger Grass) which is a perennial herb that grows in Asia. It has been shown to have antioxidant benefits and be a good source of amino acids as well as having hydrating properties that helps soothe irritated skin. It also contains the pleasing ingredient, Niacinamide, another anti-inflammatory ingredient.
Not only is this product designed to soothe, it’s also designed to hydrate.
I picked this product up because I had some irritation from using a stronger retinol. When applied to the skin, the gel texture sinks in with ease and has a cooling feel to it. I felt as though the area of irritation was being caressed, calmed and most importantly hydrated. Whilst it did not banish the redness from my face, it certainly helped ease it. There is a lovely herbal scent to the product that’s not over powering.
I actually had a random rash appear on my stomach and I used this on it and it helped ease the need to itch it.
I think this would be a great #maskne product to keep around and use daily – especially if you are require to wear a mask for long periods of time. You don’t have to use the product around your whole face if you don’t want to – you can instead just apply it to the areas that need hydrating.
This should be applied after your serums and can be used morning and evening. It plays well with other products and serums and would be great for all skin types .
I would 100% buy it again when this tube is used up. It’s going to be one of my emergency SOS products I always have to hand when irritation occurs.
