Kate Somerville DeliKate Recovery Serum

Next up in my DeliKate review series is the Recovery Serum by Kate Somerville. Who doesn’t love a serum? And a serum aimed at stressed or sensitised skin? Count me in!

My Review

The DeliKate® Recovery Serum is a lightweight, serum that originally was used to soothe post-treated skin in the Kate Somerville clinic. This serums goal is to sooth stressed, sensitised skin while relieving redness, burning, tightness & itching. This was actually previously known as the KX Active Concentrates Omegas + Ceramides Barrier Defence serum, but it has now been repackaged as part of the DeliKate® range.

It’s super lightweight and absorbs fast into the skin. It relieves any redness I have, cools my skin and leaves it with a lovely glow. I use this after using a strong exfoliator and it really helps relieve any dryness, sensitivity or redness that comes from using an exfoliator. I find this particular useful when using alongside a strong retinoid. My skin doesn’t react the best when using anything above a 0.3% retinol, but when using this serum I am able to use a 0.5 – 1% without irritation. Amazing!

I think this may be my favourite product from the range. This has no actives because it’s purely about repairing and soothing. I’ll be honest, I’m a bit of an active whore so my immediate thoughts about this was that it was going to be a bit crap, but I was totally wrong. (Note: I mean I love using actives in my routine, not that I’m a whore who’s active 😉). My skin loves this, so others who experience irritation from using retinoids or acids may wish to look this one up. This can be used alongside the DeliKate® Recovery Cream, or alongside a different moisturiser.
