Niacinamide Serums – The Ordinary vs Revolution Skincare

Revolution Skincare 10% Niacinamide 1% Zinc

How does the Revolution Skincare’s 10% Niacinamide + 1% Zinc serum compare to The Ordinary’s?

I’ve tried both, so how do they differ?  Well to be honest, I didn’t really notice much difference between the two.  They are both the same price and they both work just as well as each other.

If I was pushed, I suppose the main differences I’ve found are:

Revolution Skincare Version
❌ Smells worse
✔ Always in stock/readily available

The Ordinary Version
✔ Smells ok
❌ Is often out of stock/not always available

What is Niacinamide I hear you ask?
Niacinamide is Vitamin B3 which can help regulate sebum production (oil production), minimise pores, reduce blemishes, and improves moisture retention.  Zinc has been formulated with both of these serums to help repair damaged skin.

Although I love Niacinamide, I feel this is going to be my last Niacinamide serum.  The truth is, it’s cropping up more and more in different products (specifically toners) and I feel as though I’m no longer needing a separate serum for it.   These days I’m also preferring multi-ingredient based products, rather than singular ingredient formulations.

So which one should you go for? It’s up to you! I would have a check over the other products in your routine first to decide if you actually need a separate Niacinamide serum these days.Which one do you prefer?

And, as a side note, is anyone else a bit tired/bored of single ingredient products?
