A few of my favourite Exfoliating Toners

Skin City Intense Treatment Pads The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant Medik8 Press & Glow

Exfoliating Toners are one of my favourite steps within my routine. They help to remove dead skin cells, unclog pores, even out skin tone. They are especially good for my dry skin – I need to keep the dead skin cells off my face to allow all my hydrating products to penetrate. Different acids have different results, though the aim for all of them is to exfoliate your skin. Here are a few of my current favourites.

Skin City Intense Treatment Pads £20.00

Contains 2% encapsulated salicylic acid which exfoliates and clears clogged pores to help reduce blemishes. Also contains zinc PCA and Azelaic Acid to help redness caused by spots with an added boost of Niacinamide to regulate sebum (oil) production.

The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution £6.80

This is a really great budget friendly acid toner which contains Glycolic Acid that exfoliates and assists with skin radiance. Whilst I do use this on my face, I also use it on other areas of my body such as my chest area to prevent ingrown hairs.

Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant £29.00

One of my holy grails. This one is salicylic acid based and is beloved by many for its ability to fight blackheads, spots and exfoliate to reveal clearer, radiant skin.

Medik8 Press & Glow £25.00

This contains PHA Gluconolactone, which does not penetrate the skin as deeply as the ones listed above, but still works just as effectively, making it a fantastic choice for those who wish for exfoliation in their routine but have sensitive skin.

When using acid in your routine, it’s important to stress the use of a sunscreen (SPF30 or higher) due to the fact that they increase your skins sensitivity to the sun. There are different theories/suggestions about how often you should use them. Some people use every day, AM and PM. I honestly think this is too much so I prefer to recommend usage 2-3 times a week only.

How often do you use Exfoliating Toners and which ones are your favourites?
