Gatineau were kind and sent me their Age Benefit Youth Revitalizing Oil-Serum to try out.
What is it?
An oil-serum hybrid that works on improving appearance of uneven skin tone, diminishing appearance of lines & wrinkles, brightening & refining skin texture.
What do I think?
I have to admit, I’m not huge on facial oils, I really have to be in the mood for one, but this is such a light one you probably wouldn’t guess it’s an oil based serum unless you knew. The texture is almost watery, more so than oily.
The blend of ingredients aims to revitalize, replenish, nourish, plump and hydrate the skin.
The oils and serum separate so you have to shake well before using and then apply to cleansed skin. After use your skin just feels nourished and comfortable. I think I’m going to really enjoy this in the winter when my skin needs some extra hydration.
It layers so well with other serums and moisturisers, and can we just take a moment to appreciate the beautiful glass bottle?
I can’t vouch for the brightening claims unfortunately, but on a hydration level it’s great and will definitely minimize the look of fine lines and wrinkles by plumping the skin out.
Would I recommend?
Yes. This is great if you need the nourishment of a facial oil, but don’t want the heaviness of one.
