If you like a mineral based sunscreen, I can tell you, you’re going to love the Murad City Skin Age Defence Broad Spectrum SPF50.

What is it?

A 100% mineral based, broad spectrum sunscreen.

What do I think?

Ahh Murad. Does anyone make better products? I’ve honestly loved everything I’ve tried from them recently.

Their Age Defence Broad Spectrum SPF50 is no exception. It has a pinkish tone to it to try and counteract any white cast and gives your face a lovely dewy glow.

Being a mineral sunscreen, white casts are unavoidable, and to me looking at myself in the mirror this left absolutely no white cast. Unfortunately, and surprisingly, this didn’t translate very well on camera. I was working from home and had my camera on when my boss actually asked me if I was feeling ok because I looked really pale. Sure enough, I looked at myself on the screen and I was white as a ghost. What’s strange is that in real life, I looked absolutely fine, but for whatever reason it didn’t translate that way on camera.

The texture is silky smooth, so I can imagine if you’re someone who wears makeup this would sit amazingly over it, and you could probably use it as a primer.

I was lucky to get this in a discounted giftset at Christmas time. Last year they had some really good deals on their giftsets and I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for them this year.

Would I recommend?

I would if you’re not going to be on camera whilst wearing it.

Brands Product Description

UV light isn’t the only light that causes skin damage and visible signs of ageing. Blue light from excessive screen time can also take its toll. That’s why we developed our ultra-light, 100% mineral sunscreen that shields your skin against multiple types of light damage—whether indoor blue light from screens or outdoor UVA and UVB. Formula absorbs quickly with NO ashy residue and leaves a luminous, pearlised finish on the skin. Safe for sensitive skin, fragrance free, and delivers 100% mineral protection—no chemical sunscreens. *Test result for deposition of selected pollutants with polymer matrix vs. placebo. †In-vitro test results with final product.

Ingredients

Zinc Oxide, Titanium Oxide, Polymer Matrix, Iron Oxides, Lutein

How I use it

In my morning routines, as the last step in my routine (after moisturiser).

Would I repurchase?

I think I would repurchase (with a discount because this bitch is expensive for a sunscreen (£60!!), but I would be careful and use it on days when I’m not expected to appear on camera.

How Much?

£60.00 for 50ml – really not affordable to most. Luckily Murad do some amazing giftsets at Christmas and this is usually included. Wait until January because they normally reduce the giftsets even further.
