Lacura Cleansing Balm Review

Lacura Cleansing Balm

Soz, couldn’t resist sticking my finger in the product before I photographed it 😂 Aldi are notorious for their dupes. Most recently they released a dupe for the infamous Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm. I wanted to do a little post to compare the differences. Does it hold up? Lets see…

What is it?

A greasy cleansing balm. A ‘dupe’ for the infamous Emma Hardie Morgina Cleansing Balm (see my review on that here.

What do I think?

The Lacura Cleansing Balm feels ‘cheaper’ than the Emma Hardie. What I mean by that is that it doesn’t feel as dense, rich or as nourishing, like there’s more of an oil content and less butters. They’re both greasy balms, but the Emma Hardie feels thicker and like its doing more for my skin than the Lacura version.

They both smell really quite similar, but overall the scent to the Emma Hardie is better and lasts longer.

Both work well to cleanse the skin. Again, I would say the Emma Hardie balm is more nourishing.

I do think the Lacura Cleansing Balm is a good dupe for the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm if you’re on a budget. It’ll give you a similar experience at a much smaller price point. BUT, for me, there is no beating the original. The Emma Hardie Cleansing balm is a real cult favourite product, and many feel it’s like doing a self care ritual when using it. Everything about it feels luxurious from the scent, to the feel, to the packaging. Not only that but I feel it is worth the high price point (with a good 25% discount of course 😉 – we don’t like to pay full price for anything here 💁‍♂️).

Would I recommend?

Yes – if buying the Emma Hardie is not an option for you then this is a good one to try. It’ll give you a similar experience.
