Medik8 Bakuchiol Peptides Review

Medik8 Bakuchiol Peptides

This product was a Christmas gift from my partner. Of all the fantastic Medik8 products, it wouldn’t have been a product I would chose to buy myself, but I’m awfully glad to have gotten it because I am just loving it.

What is it?

A bakuchiol based serum with peptides – so good for signs of ageing. Bakuchiol has gotten a name for itself as a ‘natural alternative to retinol’.

What do I think?

Bakuchiol is a plant based alternative to Vitamin A and is ideal for someone who might be extremely sensitive or pregnant or breastfeeding where it’s generally advised to not use Vitamin A products. Studies have shown that Bakuchiol is similar to Retinol in the sense that it helps with anti-ageing, but it’s a lot more tolerable.

Their Bakuchiol peptide serum has been formulated with a host of wondrous ingredients, such as Brightening Peptide Precursors, Centella Asiatica and Inka Omega Oil. So, not only is it good for anti-ageing, but it’s great at calming, brightening and hydrating the skin.

I am utterly obsessed with the texture. It’s like a watery-oil, for lack of better words, but its instantly hydrating and a real pleasure to apply. My dry skin has really loved it over the winter months. I think the thing that surprised me the most is just how brightening this is when I use it consistently. I really wasn’t expecting that.

Would I recommend?

I was always a bit ‘meh’ when it came to Bakuchiol serums, so I’m surprised by how much I do like this. I actually see this one more as a multi-tasking, hydrating, anti-ageing serum that happens to have Bakuchiol in it. So yes, I would recommend.
