A few favourite Sunscreens

Does it annoy anyone else when you see sunscreens referred to as SPF? 😂 SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor which is a measure of the amount of ultraviolet B radiation (UVB) protection.

So when people post “Wear your SPF every day, they’re actually saying “Wear your Sun Protection Factor everyday”, which doesn’t really make sense to me because how can you wear a measure? Shouldn’t it be “Wear your sunscreen/sunblock every day?”… Am I over thinking it? Is it just me? Yes? Ok… 😂

Anyway, here a few of my favourite sunscreens I’ve got in my stash. In general I prefer lighter textures and will always wear SPF50 in the summer, but maybe go down to a 30 in winter when I basically never see daylight.

BeautyPie Featherlight UVA/UVB SPF50 (£12.34 for members – £35 for non-members)

I think this is a great choice if you’re going to buy something from BeautyPie. It’s a runny/liquid consistency, super lightweight and makes an excellent primer.

No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Facial Sun Protection SPF50+ (£14.95)

I’d say this is more of a beach sunscreen than a day-to-day use one. It’s quite thick, but nicely hydrating. If you have oily skin you definitely should avoid this. I happen to like it, and I think it’s because my skin is dry I can benefit from the heaviness.

Garnier Ambre Solaire Sensitive Advanced Face UV Fluid SPF50+ (£8.00)

My favourite of all time. It’s lotion-like consistency makes it SO lightweight. You won’t know you’re wearing sunscreen. The added bonus is that it’s cheap. I go through these like you wouldn’t believe.

SkinCity SPF50 Light Emulsion (AD/PR – This was gifted by the brand with no obligation to post) (£24.00)

This is a new one to me, and I loved it from first use. This feels more like a skincare-sunscreen to me, meaning that it feels nourishing, gentle and kind to the skin due to the added Squalane and Glycerin & Vitamin E. It’s a good choice if you’re dry.

Zelens Daily Defence Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF30 (£55.00)

I am so sad this has been discontinued. It was one of the nicest sunscreens I’ve used, and a rare Zelens product I actually liked.

Thank You Farmer Sun Project Water Sun Cream (£18.00)

I’ve posted a review of this one before. Hydration, Hydration, Hydration is what comes to mind when thinking of this one.

Trinny London BFF Cream Skin Perfector SPF30 (£35.00)

I wouldn’t strictly say this is a sunscreen, but it does have SPF30 in it so I’m including it. I wear this over any of the above for days when I’m in need of my skin looking a little better than it actually is. (Review posted)

What are some of your favourite sunscreens? What do you look for in a sunscreen? Do you agree with my comments about people calling sunscreens SPF? 😂
