Microcurrent Devices

NuFace Mini Visage Facial Massager

Microcurrent devices tones and tightens the muscles in the face using low-level electrical microcurrents. You see those silver spheres? Well the device passes electricity between these and through the muscles to tighten and tone your face.

I’ve been getting into skincare gadgets and tools over the past 9 months or so, purely out if interest to see if they worked or not. I picked up the NuFace Mini Facial Toning Device last year and then a couple months later Aldi were selling their own version so I picked that up too just to see how they compared.

As with all these microcurrent devices, you really have to put the time in to see results. When I used the tool consistently (I’ve fallen off the wagon since Christmas), I did notice a small difference in my jaw line and neck, which was the area I really focused on. I have to say though, the changes I saw I’m not entirely convinced anyone else would have noticed, but I notice on myself. If you’re hoping for a face lift using one of these devices, then sorry you’re out of luck. The results are subtle.

I will carry on using them, because I do feel they are doing something, albeit not in a dramatic way.

One thing I actually found the devices great for was brightening and I would put this down to the fact they are great for getting blood circulating around the face and also at lymph drainage.

For those of you wondering regarding the NuFace vs The Aldi Dupe… The Aldi one obviously ‘feels’ cheaper and less sturdy compared to the NuFace. Results wise (using one on each side of my face), I personally saw more of a result from the NuFace device. That’s not to say the Aldi one didn’t work – it did but it just wasn’t as noticeable as the NuFace.
