Sunday Riley A+ High-Dose Retinoid Serum Review

Sunday Riley A+ High-Dose Retinoid Serum

I can absolutely see why this Sunday Riley Retinoid Serum is loved by so many – it’s possibly one of my favourite retinoid products ever. Not only do you see good results from this, but the irritation you get from it is minimal.

What is it?

A 15% Azelaic Acid serum that aims to reduce inflammation, redness and has an antibacterial effect against acne-causing bacteria, hyperpigmentation and rosacea.

What do I think?

The formulation is great, containing a 5% retinoid ester blend, a 1% liposome-encapsulated retinol blend and 0.5% blue-green algae to resurface, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines and provide fresh, clear skin. CoQ10 is added to improve the appearance of UV-exposed skin for a healthier, balanced looking complexion.

I tend to use retinol every other night, but I used this every night for a couple of weeks just to see how it was and I didn’t get any irritation. I found this to be more potent than Luna with better results, though Luna (which is in an oil base) would be great if you are a retinoid newbie or particularly sensitive.

It provides a smoothness and a healthy glow to the skin that cannot be denied.

Would I recommend?

Yes. This would be a good one to opt for if you’re wanting to up the anti when it comes to retinoids in your routine.

Key Ingredients

Retinoid Ester Blend 5% + Liposome-Encapsulated Retinol Blend 1% + 0.5% Blue-Green Algae, COQ10, Hawaiian White Honey

How I use it

In the evening, every other night. Usually this will be the only serum I use, but I might occasionally layer it with a peptide serum.

Would I repurchase?

Yes I would. I really liked it. This was only a smaller size, so I’d probably get the bigger size next time.

How Much?

£70.00 for 30ml
£100.00 for 50ml

I would go for the Superstars Kit (overview on that here) though – you get a few more products for your money.
