Chapter 3 of the Trinny London skincare launches saw the introduction of two retinal serums – Overnight Clarity and Overnight Sensation. I opted for Overnight Sensation, which is actually targeted for a more mature skin, but I love it nonetheless.
What is it?
A retinal serum that will help reduce fine lines and wrinkles by promoting skin cell turnover.
What do I think?
I think this is where it became extremely evident that the range isn’t just a cash grab, jumping on the skincare band wagon. The formulations have been really well thought-out and formulated by a total skincare fanatic.
Overnight Sensation, boasts a 0.25% Retinal + Granactive Retinoid blend (hydroxypinacolone retinoate) to resurface the skin and visibly reduce fine lines and pigmentation. Vitamin F also makes an appearance in the formulation to support the skin barrier and Bacillus Ferment to help lift and firm.
I love the inclusion of Granactive Retinoid, which is an ester of retinoic acid that doesn’t require any conversion steps to become retinoic acid meaning that it works straight away on the skin.
I’ve noticed a much more even complexion, and a small reduction in the fine lines on my forehead since using this. It’s only been around a month and a half since I started using, so I can’t wait to see more results with further use.
I suffer from dry skin, and I find that this serum is really quite hydrating on its own and have on occasion forgotten to moisturise after applying. It plays well not only with other Trinny London products, but also other brands which is a huge bonus.
And for those wondering. Irritation? Don’t know her with this serum!

How I use it
In the evening, every other night. Usually this will be the only serum I use, but I might occassionally layer it with a peptide serum.
Would I repurchase?
Yes. I’m seeing good results so far so I will definitely revisit this.
How Much?
Price wise, it’s a little bit expensive (£69 initially and then £55 for refills), BUT you are getting excellent quality ingredients and a beautiful formulation with this one.
