Trinny London Boost Up 30% Vitamin C Serum Review

Trinny London Boost Up 30% Vitamin C Serum

Another month, another launch from Trinny London – they have just released the Trinny London Boost Up 30% Vitamin C Serum. They are just nailing it with their skincare products and the way it’s being launched. I really like they’re introducing products one at a time so they can educate their consumers about the products.

What is it?

This is another powerful serum that they’ve released that promises to brighten, even out skin tone and protect your skin from environmental stressors.

What do I think?

The texture of this is unlike any other Vitamin C serum I have ever tried. It’s a balm-like consistency which just feels so nice on the skin in the morning and throughout the day. If you’ve ever used the Allies of Skin Vitamin C – it’s rather like that. I’d also say it has a mildy-blurring effect on the skin.

Unfortunately, you have to be really careful with how you layer this product or else it pills.  ‘Pilling’ is where a product doesn’t soak into your skin properly and then starts to roll off.  The pilling for this product can occur whilst layering other Trinny London products or when using products from different brands.  Sometimes this can happen immediately, or throughout the day you start to nice product rolling off your face.

I’ve tried lots of methods to avoid this, such as waiting 5-10 minutes before moving onto the next step, ensuring my skin is exfoliated, and only using one pump instead of the recommended two, but the issue can still occur if you’re not careful. I find its best to avoid the pilling by cleansing and using this as your only serum, and then opting for a non-silicone based moisturiser and sunscreen.  Honestly, this issue does make me reach for it less as it’s really inconvenient and really feels like a waste of product/money.

Would I recommend?

At the moment, I’m not sure. I really want to love it. The pilling issue is what puts me off recommending it. If you do quite simple routines you may not experience the issue – some others have reported the issue, whilst others seem to not experience pilling at all. I don’t think I do overly complicated routines, so I’m really surprised I’m getting the issue whether I’m using Trinny London products or not. It had potential to be a favourite Vitamin C Serum because I liked how it felt.
