Lacura Vitabase Moisturising Primer Review

Lacura Vitabase Moisturising Primer

The infamous Aldi dupe, Lacura Vitabase, is back in stores from 6th November. I picked this one up when it was in stores a few months back. I have a little addiction to the Aldi Special Buys isle especially when it comes to their beauty dupes.

What is it?

It’s inspired by the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base and the similarities are quite striking – just look at the packaging alone. Whilst I haven’t ever tried the Bobbi Brown version, lots of people say it’s a very close dupe.

What Do I Think?

With the Aldi Vitabase, you get a cream formulated with Vitamin C, B & E, Shea Butter, Sodium Hyaluronate and Geranium Oil. There’s a light zesty scent to it, which I quite enjoy.

Results wise, it definitely improves the look of your skin instantly. It gives it that sort of dewy, smooth, soft focus-finish look. Great for days when you wake up needing a little extra help. Its purpose is to wear underneath makeup, providing a smooth base and helping it to stay on your face throughout the day.

I don’t find this that moisturising, meaning I personally would use it more as a primer and wear it over a moisturiser, but my skin is super dry and I know many others who can use this as their sole moisturiser.

Would I Recommend?

Yes. I know it’s a total rip off of the Bobbi Brown, which must be awful for Bobbi Brown, but honestly we’re in a cost of living crisis here in the UK. People are struggling. They need access to affordable products and if they can get this, it offers them something similar to a high-end product at a really decent price.
