I was sent a selection of products from Collistar who are Italy’s number 1 beauty brand, made in Milan and now available in the UK and available at Sephora and Look Fantastic.
My first impressions of these are really good and I’m enjoying slotting them into various different routines. Their products are reminiscent of French pharmacy products and by that I mean they all have gorgeous textures, scents and well-researched formulations, though these are obviously Italian.
Talasso-Scrub
I have never loved a body scrub more. This has got everything you could possibly look for in a body scrub. Alongside it’s salt base (great for physical exfoliation), it contains Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Vitamin C and a blend of oils to give you an instantly smooth, hydrated, nourished skin after use. It smells amazing too – citrusy, just what I like.
Hyaluronic and Polyglutamic Acid Serum
4 molecular weights of hyaluronic combined with Polyglutamic acid give you a deeply hydrated, plumper skin. I really like this one, this doesn’t make my skin feel dry like some other Hyaluronic Acid based serums do. It’s a little sticky once applied (like most Hyaluronic Acid serums), but nothing layering a moisturiser or sunscreen over the top of doesn’t fix.
Fresh Moisturising Gelee Cream
I’m not normally overly keen on oil-free moisturisers because my skin is dry so I need all the oil content I can get, but this seems to be a happy exception. The texture is unusual. I don’t know if I’m going to explain this well, but it’s sort of a matte-gel. The result on the face is a mattified look, but without the dryness that can come from matte products. It’s nicely hydrating and smells nice. I think for me, this may be more of a spring/summer moisturiser when I want lighter textures, so I’ll be holding it back for then.
