When Byoma launched last year I bought all but one of their products. I was really excited to see another budget friendly skincare brand on the market, and their focus on barrier repair really intrigued me. One of the items I picked up was the Balancing Face Mist.
What is it?
A hydrating facial mist designed to instantly balance, soothe and hydrate the skin.
What Do I Think?
I loved the ingredients list for this one. As someone with dry skin, whenever I see Ceramides as a key ingredient in a skincare product, I instantly want to try it. Ceramides are brilliant for maintaining a healthy skin barrier. Paired with the Ceramides you have Allantoin to moisturise and soothe the skin, and Probiotic Ferment for fortifying the skins microbiome.
The mist feels refreshing on the skin and immediately quenches its thirst. The mist action is a little hose-like – it feels a bit like someone sneezing on you – so the nozzle could use a little development. I’m not too precious about this because the price point is really good.
It’s nice to use when your barrier function is slightly impaired. It doesn’t sting or upset the skin further and gives it a good dose of some calming and soothing ingredients. Whilst it claims to calm signs of redness, I can’t say this did this for me.
I prefered to use this as a toner after cleansing. Whilst it does work well as a hydrating mist for hydration top-ups throughout the day, I much prefer something where the spray is lighter and more mist like.
As with the whole Byoma range, the Balancing Face Mist is unfragranced which is brilliant for those with intolerances to fragrance in skincare.
Would I Recommend?
Yes I would. I can look past the aggressive spray because the price point is great. Although mists/toners aren’t an essential step, they’re nice to use if you have the budget.

How I Use It
As mentioned earlier, I prefered using this as a toner in my routine. I’d use it immediately post-cleanse. You can use it as a mist for throughout the day hydration top-ups but I found the spray a little aggressive.
Would I Repurchase/Buy?
Yes, I would if I needed a good budget friendly hydrating toner.
