Here’s a cleanser I’ve been really enjoying recently – the Dr Sam Bunting Flawless Cleanser. Dr Sam Bunting is a cosmetic dermatologist and owns her own clinic in London. She founded her own range of skincare products in 2018 and is immensely popular on social media for demystifying the skincare space with her educational videos and posts.
What is it?
An effective, gentle, hydrating gel cleanser.
What Do I Think?
As you would expect from a Dr, the cleanser is fairly simple, and I don’t mean that in a bad way at all! It’s one of things I really like about it. It’s designed to be extremely gentle and kind to the skin. There’s some wonderful hydrating and soothing ingredients like Allantoin and Aloe Vera. There’s no fragrance in this either, which is good if you are sensitive to it. I personally quite like a fragrance in my skincare, but I don’t miss it when it comes to this cleanser.
It’s got quite a unique gel texture. It’s a thick gel formula that initially feels like one of those cleansing balms that start off as a gel and turn to an oil, except this one doesn’t turn into an oil. It’s easily spread and massaged around the face. It doesn’t foam either. It feels amazing on the skin – really hydrating and soothing. Post cleanse, skin remains feeling hydrated without a film being left on the skin.
It’s recommended to use one pump the morning and two at night to damp skin and massage into the skin for 1 minute. Dr Sam is not a believer in the double cleanse. I somewhat agree with her – as someone with dry skin, double cleansing is far too stripping for my skin if I did it every day.
Luckily I find this cleanser does an excellent job of breaking down sunscreen and dirt which means I do not need to do a second cleanse.
Would I Recommend?
Yes! I really think it’s a great cleanser for all skin types. It’s a really good option if you’re skin is quite reactive and you need something that’s gentle to cleanse your face.
