REN is one of my favourite skincare brands. They’re one of those brands where the products are just excellent and do exactly as they claim. The REN Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic is no exception.
What is it?
Ready Steady Glow is a leave on liquid exfoliant designed to be used in the toner stage of your routine.
What Do I Think?
The thing I like the most about this is the AHA of choice is Lactic Acid. So many brands tend to opt for Glycolic Acid for their liquid exfoliants which can be quite irritating to many people, whereas Lactic is a lot gentler. Lactic Acid is also hydrating, and helps strengthen the skin barrier by encouraging the skin to make more ceramides. They’ve also formulated this with Willow Bark Extract, which is good for unclogging pores, preventing breakouts and minimising pores, and Azelaic Acid which helps to boost radiance and even skin tone.
When I use this, I definitely notice a brighter, smoother complexion. I tend to use this in my morning routine and it’s one of those products that you apply first thing, see good results, but the results get better throughout the day. I also find it extremely good for preventing and minimising any scarring left from a breakout.
Whilst the brand say it’s gentle enough to be used daily, I personally don’t – it would be a little too much for my skin. I tend to opt to use it every other day instead. Just because you can use something every day, doesn’t mean you should.
I haven’t experienced any irritation or tingling whilst using this, so I feel like it’s effective, but kind and gentle at the same time.
Would I Recommend?
Yes! I think this could be a good place to start if you’re looking to get into exfoliating acids, just go steady and listen/watch how your skin reacts to it.

I use this in my morning routine in the toner stage of my routine, but you could easily use it in your evening routine instead. I use it every other day rather than everyday as the brand suggests.

£30.00 for 250ml. Oddly enough I’ve never actually purchased. It’s often included as a Gift with Purchase, or within a skincare box of some kind. I’ve been through many of these and never actually bought it! 😂
