I’d heard Elf Cosmetics had launched some new skincare products, including a retinoid serum and I wanted to give them a try, so I did a little Elf haul.
Elf is an extremely affordable brand. Everything featured in this post is £22 and under.
💙 Pure Skin Toner £9.00
This is a hydrating, soothing toner primarily aimed at those with sensitive skin, but it’s actually good for all skin types. It’s got a traditional liquid consistency (not like an essence which normally has a thicker texture). They’ve formulated this with Oat Milk, Aloe Juice, Niacinamide, Allantoin and Hyaluronic Acid to hydrate, soothe and moisturise the skin. It’s an excellent post-cleanse product and adds enough hydration to then layer your other products on top.
💜 Youth Boosting Advanced Retinoid Serum £22.00
One of the launches I was most excited about. There’s a lack of affordable retinoid serums containing Retinal (this one contains 0.06%), but Elf have delivered. Alongside the Retinal, you also have 1% Granactive Retnoid and some antioxidants, all of which help reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Hyaluronic Acid has also been added to hydrate the skin. This would be a good option if you’re in need of a budget-friendly retinoid.
💛 Suntouchable! Whao Glow SPF30 £14.00
If you’re going to use the retinoid, you’re also going to need a sunscreen. Being an brand that primarily focuses on makeup, Elf have created their own sunscreen that also doubles as a makeup primer. It gives the skin a beautiful glow, and thanks to its peach tone, it also slightly evens out skin tone. It does pill if you use a lot of products in your routine, so that’s something to be mindful of.
💙 Holy Hydration! Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm £10.00
This is a mini size that I got free for spending over a certain amount. It’s a really nourishing cleansing balm that easily dissolves makeup, sunscreen and dirt at the end of a long day. There’s a beautiful fresh scent to it and I personally feel it’s one of the best affordable cleansing balms out there.
