The FaceTheory Relaxing Night Cream Pro is a soothing and nourishing moisturiser designed to help skin repair overnight.

What is it?

The FaceTheory Relaxing Night Cream Pro is a soothing and nourishing moisturiser designed to help skin repair overnight.

What Do I Think?

It houses a lot of ingredients all of which aim to promote skin regeneration whilst you sleep. The star ingredient is the Melatonin derived from grapes which stimulates the production of antioxidant enzymes, fighting inflammation and defending against oxidative stresses. They’ve added peptides in the form of ChroNOline, which helps to boost elasticity and softens the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Of course, Vitamin E has been added for its anti-inflammatory properties.

All of these ingredients sit in a shea butter and Rice Bran Oil base, which is perfect for those with drier skin types due to its rich nature and ability to help improve moisture retention.

There’s two versions available of this – scented and non-scented. The scented option uses natural lavender which is relaxing. I personally am not too fond of lavender on my face, so I chose the unscented version, but I love that FaceTheory were one of the first brands to offer a scented and non-scented version.

The texture of this initially feels quite rich, but it melts down into a lighter texture and doesn’t feel too heavy when massaged in. It’s not as easy to massage in as some other moisturisers and it does take a little bit of time to absorb completely into the skin. Once absorbed, the skin feels incredibly nourished and soft so I found it a really good choice during the winter months. It feels a little bit like a hug for the face when your skin is feeling ‘tight’ and dry.

In the morning after use, my skin feels calm, hydrated, and plumper. Although this is marketed as a night cream, there’s nothing that would stop you using this in the day.

I think this would be a little too much if you’re oily, but if you’re normal to dry you’d get on well with this.
