Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask Review

Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask

I was lucky last Christmas when my partner bought me this Sisley Paris Black Rose Cream Mask. I had been wanting to try it for a while so it was a nice gift to receive.

What is it?

This promises to give you instant youth – smoothing, plumping and brightening the skin. The instant youth claim is a little bit of a stretch – but the smoothing, plumping and brightening claims are easily met.

What Do I Think?

The main ingredient in this mask is the Black Rose, which is smoothing and protects the skin against free radicals. Paired with the Black Rose, you also have Alkekengi Calyx extract which Sisley says helps stimulate collagen, Vitamin E for soothing and further antioxidant protection. There’s also Red Vine which promotes radiance and Chlorella which revitalises the skin.

It’s scented beautifully with a rose scent which doesn’t smell artificial at all. I’m not usually overly keen on rose scented products, but this one is just a whole different experience. It really gives it an extra edge and you a sensorial experience when using it.

After use, my skin absolutely looks and feels plumper, brighter and revitalised. It’s one of those products that just does exactly what it promises to do and works extremely well.

Due to the price of this, I tend to actually use it more of a night-time moisturiser. It’s too good and too expensive to use as a rinse off mask – I want it on my skin for as long as possible. However, that being said, it’s brilliant for use just before a party or something when you just want your skin to look good.

Brands Product Description

A cream mask that has been specifically formulated to instantly provide your skin with a youthful and energised look. Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask offers your skin “instant youth”. Rich in active anti-ageing ingredients (Black Rose, Padina pavonica, and Alkekengi calyx extracts), it immediately gets to work on signs of fatigue and leaves your skin looking youthful and energised.

Key Ingredients

  • Black Rose – Smoothing and provides antioxidant protection.
  • Alkekengi Calyx Extract – Stimulates collagen production
  • Padina pavonica – promotes the synthesis of glycoaminoglycans.
  • Vitamin E acetate – provides antioxidant protection.
  • Red Vine – promotes radiance.
  • Shea butter – nourishes, soothes, repairs, softens the skin.
  • Vegetable Glycerin – hydrates the skin.

How I Use It

The way you’re supposed to use it is to apply a thick layer to the face and neck after cleansing, wait 10 to 15 minutes and then tissue off the excess. I, however, tend to use it more like a moisturiser – it’s too good to wash off!

Would I Repurchase/Buy?

I would. Only as a special treat though, and I’d try my best to get a discount.

How Much?

£133.00 for 60ml. Expensive, I know. Luckily Sisley are stocked at many beauty retailers (Cult Beauty, Liberty, John Lewis etc.) who will offer discount codes from time-to-time.
