Banish Skincare is a small independent brand created by Daisy Jing. Daisy suffered with acne and tried every product under the sun to cure her acne. She shared her journey on YouTube to share her battle with others. When a plastic surgeon recommended she used a cosmetic tool in conjunction with Vitamin C, she noticed a difference in her skin and thus Banish Skincare was born.

About The Products

Banish creates skincare designed to help others with various skin issues, but mainly those with acne-prone skin. They have a small range of products, but each product is beautifully considered.

Their products are made in small batches to ensure they’re as fresh as possible for their customers. They pride themselves in making products with organic ingredients, and being cruelty-free.

BANISH SERUM DARK SPOT CORRECTOR

What is it?
Formulated with Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) & E, Ferulic Acid and Glycerin, this is a lightweight oil-serum hybrid designed to brighten the skin, fade dark spots and add an natural dewy glow to the skin. It feels nice and hydrating on the skin and isn’t irritating despite using pure Ascorbic Acid.

Targets
Uneven skin tone, Pigmentation, Dullness, Dryness, Fine Lines & Wrinkles

What’s in it?
Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) – Evens skin tone, fades dark spots, brightens the skin, provides antioxidant protection.
Ferulic Acid – Helps stabilise the Vitamin C.
Vitamin E – Anti Inflammatory and helps soothe the skin.

Who is it for?
This is aimed at those with acneic skin who are suffering with dark spots, but anyone could easily use this whether you have acneic skin or not.

How to use
The brand suggest using this in the evening. I prefer using my Vitamin C serums in the day. You simply apply a few drops to your face after cleansing, and then layer a moisturiser over the top. Layer a sunscreen on top if using in the day.

Price
£48.00 for 15ml

VITAMIN C CREME

What is it?
This is the brands offering of a moisturiser. It has a lightweight texture that gives you all the moisturisation you need without the heaviness. This has Vitamin C and antioxidant fruit extracts in it to further reduce dark spots, even skin tone. It’s aimed at those with oily acne-prone skin, but my dry skin has found it sufficient enough for use in the day time. You can’t tell from the texture, but it’s more like a lotion-texture than a cream texture.

Targets
Uneven skin tone, Pigmentation, Dullness, Dryness, Dehydration, Fine Lines & Wrinkles

What’s in it?
Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) – Evens skin tone, fades dark spots, brightens the skin, provides antioxidant protection.
Glycerin – Hydrates the skin.
Rosehip Oil – Moisturises, brightens, evens skin tone.

Who is it for?
This is aimed at those with oily skin, but anyone can use this who wants a lightweight moisturiser.

How to use
Simply apply after serums in the morning or evening. If using it in the morning, layer a sunscreen on top.

Price
£48.00 for 50ml

INSTANT LIFE BRIGHTENING EYE CREAM

What is it?
Their eye cream contains everything you need for a firmer, brighter eye area. It has peptides, Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, Squalane, Lactic Acid just to name a few. It feels incredible under the eye area – really nourishing. It’s got a light texture, but like the moisturiser, gives ample moisturisation. I wouldn’t say it’s ‘lifting’, but it is quite firming. I notice a slight brightening effect while using it, but the main thing it’s good for in my opinion is intensely hydrating the eye area.

Targets
Dullness, fine lines & wrinkles, dark circles,

What’s in it?
Literally everything…. but a select few are:-

Peptides – Stimulates collagen production resulting less prominent fine lines and wrinkles.
Vitamin C – Evens skin tone, fades dark spots, brightens the skin, provides antioxidant protection.
Green Tea – Calms irritation and reduces sebum.
Lactic, Glycolic, and Phytic Acid – Exfoliates dead skin cells resulting in a smoother skin.
Squalane – A light oil that hydrates by sealing in moisture.

Who is it for?
Anyone who has concerns about their eye area, or anyone who has no concerns but wants to maintain their eye area looking tip-top.

How to use
Simply apply after serums in the morning or evening. If using it in the morning, layer a sunscreen on top.

Price
£70 for 25ml. Note that this is 25ml when the typical eye cream is 15ml.

PUMPKIN ENZYME MASQUE

What is it?
This is a rinse off mask you wear for 10 minutes that gently exfoliates the skin, giving it an immediate smoothness and glow. It contains natural AHA’s from Pumpkin Fruit, where the enzymes eat up the dead skin cells.

Targets

Vitamin C & Beta-Carotene – Provide antioxidant protection, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, improves firmness.
Alpha Hydroxy Acids – Exfoliates dead sink cells.

Anyone who suffers with breakouts or has texture issues.

If I had to pick a favourite from the Banish Skincare range, I might just have to choose the Instant Lift Brightening Eye Cream. It’s brilliant and I’ve really been enjoying using it. Of course, the Pumpkin Enzyme Mask also gets a shout out now we’re nearing the Autumn season.
