The L’Oreal Paris 5% Pure Glycolic Peeling Toner was released last year, and I have to say, it’s a really nice exfoliating toner. Especially if you’re new to acids or want something a bit gentler.

What is it?

L’Oreal Paris 5% Pure Glycolic Peeling Toner is a gentle exfoliating toner designed to softly exfoliate the skin, leaving you with skin that feels smooth and looks refreshed.

What Do I Think?

If you’re not overly fond of high-strength Glycolic based exfoliating toners and would prefer something more gentle to use, this would be a brilliant choice. If you’re just dipping your toe into the world of exfoliating toners, this would also be a really good choice.

L’Oreal have formulated this with 5% Glycolic Acid to ensure you get results but haven’t loaded it with such a high percentage where there consumers could potentially experience irritation. That being said, you should always listen to your skin when using exfoliating toners. If you experience irritation you should limit usage.

L’Oreal say you can use this daily, and whilst you can, I prefer not to. It’s extremely easy to over-exfoliate your skin, so I tend to prefer to use this 2-3 times a week instead.

I find when using this my skin is left soft, smooth and hydrated. It’s good for minimising the look of pores, and also for keeping breakouts at bay. I really like that they’ve formulated this with some hydrating and calming ingredients to counteract the harshness you can sometimes get with Glycolic Acid.

When applied with a cotton pad, it absorbs pretty quickly and doesn’t leave a sticky residue.

Whilst it’s good for your face, it’s also great for use on your body in areas prone to dryness like elbows, knees, or heels of feet. It will get rid the dry skin and leave them smooth.

This contains fragrance and there’s a pleasant, subtle scent that doesn’t linger. Might be something to be mindful of if you’re super intolerant to fragrance.

I haven’t experienced any irritation with this, but as mentioned above I do limit my usage to 2-3 times a week.
