I know eye creams aren’t classed as essential steps in a skincare routine, but I happen to like them. They remind me to take care of my eye area. And who doesn’t want a bit of added hydration to their eye area. The Heimish Marine Care Eye Cream was an eye cream I emptied earlier in the year, and I really liked it.

What is it?

Heimish Marine Care Eye Cream is a rich eye cream designed to moisturise and reduce fine lines and wrinkles around the eye area.

What Do I Think?

This has been credited as a ‘dupe’ for the La Mer The Eye Concentrate due to one of the key ingredients being Fermented Sea Weed Extract. I can’t comment on whether it is a dupe because I haven’t tried the La Mer Eye Cream. As an eye cream on it’s own I think it’s a really nice one.

Aside from the Sea Weed Extract, they have formulated this with peptides and plant stem cell extracts all designed to diminish fine lines and wrinkles, lock in moisture and protect the skins natural barrier.

The texture is gorgeously thick and buttery. It can take a little while to absorb, but it really does hydrate the eye area really well. I used it over the winter months and my eye area really appreciated the thickness and moisturisation that came from this eye cream. When applied, it was so moisturising I noticed that fine lines and wrinkles looked less prominent. If you can’t stand anything thick or heavy around your eyes, this wouldn’t be an eye cream for you. Also, if you get Milia around the eye, you may wish to avoid this due the heaviness.

As I used this over time, I did notice a brighter, healthier eye area with less prominent fine lines and wrinkles, so I felt the claims of the product were easily met.

This comes with a nice little metal tipped applicator so you can massage it into the eye area and reduce a bit of puffiness from the cold of the metal.

One of my favourite things about this is the generous size. You get 30ml of product, which is twice the amount of product you would normally get from an eye cream. It lasted months because you need so little for it to be effective. For reference, I opened this in September and finished it in March, so I got a good 6 months use out of it.

One thing I’m not so keen on is that it’s fragranced. It’s a pleasing scent and I don’t mind fragrance in skincare, but it seems a little pointless to have fragrance in an eye cream? It didn’t cause any irritation for me. It could for someone who has particularly sensitive eye areas, or cannot tolerate fragrance.
