Charlotte Tilbury Instant Magic Facial Dry Sheet Mask Review

Charlotte Tilbury Instant Magic Facial Dry Sheet Mask

The concept of a dry sheet mask is really intriguing to me. I’d been wanting to try the Nanette De Gaspe dry sheet masks for a while, but spending £90 on a mask seemed excessive so I opted for a more affordable option and went for the Charlotte Tilbury Instant Magic Facial Dry Sheet Mask instead which costs £18.

What is it?

The Charlotte Tilbury Instant Magic Facial Dry Sheet is a mask you wear which promises to hydrate, smooth and brighten the skin. It’s completely dry to touch, so not like a traditional sheet mask which is drenched in a serum of some kind.

What Do I Think?

These feel a bit odd initially. The sheet mask itself feels dry to touch, and almost put it on thinking ‘is this actually going to do anything?’. It’s marketed as a hydrating face mask, and you do wonder to yourself how can something dry be hydrating? But it works, exceptionally well.

The mask itself fits the face comfortably. There are slings that go around your ears so you can fit the mask quite snuggly against the skin. To activate the mask, you simply gently massage it when it’s on your face. This allows the ingredients infused in the textile fabric to release.

The ingredients released are fantastic – you have NIacinamide for brightening, a Peptide Complex to promote firmer, plumper looking skin, Sea Fern Extract for nourishment and Shea Butter, Mango Butter and Avocado Oil for additional nourishment and moisture.

When you take the mask off, my skin looks and feels moisturised, brighter and glowing. The skin has what feels a little bit like an oily texture on it from the nourishing oils that were released when the mask was activated. Some of the glow is definitely helped by the added Mica, but don’t worry, the Mica won’t leave you looking artificially glowing or like a crystal ball.

I love that you can use the mask three times, bringing the cost per-use down. You simply put it back in the packet and seal until the next time you want to use it.

Overall, I like it. It’s fun to use for a little pamper session and it does what it claims to do.
