Murad make some of my favourite sunscreens, and this one is no exception. I’ve previously posted a review for their Skin Age Defence Broad Spectrum SPF50, which I really liked. I’ve been using the Murad Correct & Protect Serum Broad Spectrum SPF45 recently and have been really enjoying it.

What is it?

This is a 100% mineral sunscreen which has a beautiful milky-serum texture.

What Do I Think?

The feel of it is really nice. It’s got a silky-smooth texture and it leaves a satin-like finish on the skin. I also find it almost blurs out imperfections, giving my face a nice soft-focus finish. If you can’t stand a thick, occlusive sunscreen, then you will definitely enjoy the texture of this.

For such a lightweight texture, it really does feel quite moisturising on the skin. This has a milky serum-like texture and feels light on the skin. Initially it can feel a little bit on the oily-side but this soon settles a few minutes after application.

Although my preference when it comes to sunscreens is chemical, I really do enjoy using this one. Usually when it comes to 100% mineral sunscreens, you can expect a horrible white cast that leaves you looking like a ghost or I find them quite drying.

This one has really surprised me. Once massaged in it doesn’t leave a white cast at all. You might notice a very, very, very slight whiteness to the skin, at first but it’s really not noticeable to anyone else aside from yourself and eventually disappears entirely.

This has other benefits too. Murad market this as a 2-in-1 product since not only does it provide SPF protection, it is also clinically proven to correct discolouration and prevent future hyperpigmentation. Murad have added UV-Responsive Carotenoid Technology to the formulation which is a blend of jojoba, squalane and tomato fruit extract that provide antioxidant protection and also gives the skin a glow. Beet Root Extract also plays its part in the formulation by bringing hydration to the skin whilst stimulating Vitamin D production.
