Retinal serums can cost the earth, but Geek & Gorgeous have you covered with their A-Game serums.

What is it?

A-Game 10 is their strongest retinal serum aimed at experienced retinoid users. They also sell A-Game 5 which is mid-strength for beginners.

What Do I Think?

This contains 0.1% retinal, a form of Vitamin A, which is only one precursor away from retinoic acid, to target fine lines & wrinkles and stimulate collagen, making the skin look more youthful. It also helps fade pigmentation and prevent breakouts. It’s an ingredient that does a lot, and targets all the signs of ageing we dislike. The good news with Retinal is you’re likely to get less irritation than using Retinol.

They’ve paired the retinal with soothing and moisturising ingredients like Allantoin, Panthenol & Biossaccharide Gum-1, to minimise any dryness or irritation as much as possible. It’s actually quite moisturising on its own, so I’ve managed to simplify my night time routine sometimes by just using this and a moisturiser.

One of the things I love about this is how affordable it is. This retails for £17.95 and if you’re a skincare lover, you will know this is extremely affordable for a retinal serum which can normally retail anywhere from £40 – £100.

It has is a cream texture with a bright yellow colour which comes from the retinal. It applies into the skin nicely and feels silky. The yellow doesn’t tint your skin and nor does it stain white bedsheets, providing you allow time for it to absorb before putting your head to the pillow. It layers incredibly well – I haven’t experienced any pilling whilst using this.

It comes in an air-tight pump packaging. I find one pump is sufficient enough to cover my face and neck, but if your face is a little smaller you may get away with just half a pump.

I’ve been really impressed with this. I’ve can see the difference in my skin – it looks healthier, smoother, more even and I’ve even noticed fine lines and wrinkles look less prominent.

If you’re a bit nervous using retinoids due to possible irritation, layering this with the Geek & Gorgeous Stress Less serum is a really good idea and nice combination together.
