New from Lacura – La Mer & L’Occitane Dupes

New from Lacura - La Mer & L'Occitane Dupes

Aldi launched some new Special Buys last week, and with that came some Lacura dupes. I couldn’t resist popping them in my basket.  These are ‘dupes’ for some very famous products – namely La Mer and L’Occitane.

There’s a little bit of snobbery when it comes to dupes in the skincare community. You see it less when it comes to makeup, clothing and food. On some degree I do understand it. It must be annoying for a brand when they go about creating a product and someone else comes along and creates something nearing on the same for a lower price point. But, I personally don’t mind a dupe. Not everyone has £50+ to drop on a face cream. There needs to be products accessible at all price points and everyone loves feeling like they’re getting a good quality product at a fraction of the cost.

I’ve been enjoying these. I really feel they will make great little stocking fillers this Christmas if you’re on a budget.

Lacura La Soie Facial Moisturiser

This is their take on the Crème De La Mer moisturiser. I would say it’s more ‘inspired by’ than a dupe. It has a similar ingredients, minus the mineral oil/petrolatum/paraffin and a slightly different feel to the La Mer cream. It’s a thick, nourishing cream that’s perfect for this time of year when your skin seeks comfort and nurture with something heavy and moisturising.

Interestingly, they’ve made this a 30ml size. I’d normally expect at least a 50ml size when it comes to moisturiser. But the original La Mer Cream is available in a 30ml size, so that might be why.

Price: £6.99 for 30ml.

Lacrua La Soie Eye Concentrate

I can’t speak for how it compares to the La Mer eye cream because I’ve never tried it, but I really like this. This has a rich, buttery texture that immediately intensely moisturises the eye area. It’s good for temporarily plumping out fine lines due to its moisturising properties.

Price: £5.99 for 15ml

Lacura La Soie Concentrate Serum

Now, this I absolutely love and I wish it was a mainstay in the Lacura range. Again, I can’t compare it to the La Mer serum because I haven’t tried it, but this would be a nice serum if you need something hydrating and want a nice dewy finish. It’s got a milky texture with a slight oily feel to it.  The only bad thing about this serum is the packaging. The lid houses a spatula which makes it a bit messy to apply. A dropper or a pump would have been much more convenient.

Price: £6.99 for 30ml

Lacura Almond Nourishing Body Lotion

This is inspired by the L’Occitane Almond Body lotion. I might actually go back for more of this. For me, it hits the perfect balance of being moisturising, but doesn’t feel heavy or greasy on the skin. It has a really nice sweet marzipan-like scent.

Price: £4.99 for 200ml

Lacura Almond Exfoliating Body Scrub

Inspired by the L’Occitane Almond Body Scrub. Perfect for buffing away dry, scaly skin people tend to get in the winter months. Contains ground almond shells, so avoid if you don’t believe in using ground shells on your skin. I personally don’t mind ground shells when it comes to my body and this has a nice marzipan-like scent like the Body Lotion.

Price: £4.99 for 200ml

You’ll also find the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base dupe back in stock. I’ve previously reviewed this here. And they’ve bought back the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm dupe – previously reviewed here.

Have you grabbed any of the Aldi dupes?
