Aveeno Dry Skin Relief Body Oil Spray Review

Aveeno Dry Skin Relief Body Oil Spray

Last Winter I was on the lookout for a new body product to try so I picked up the Aveeno Dry Skin Relief Body Oil Spray when it was on special offer. I have to admit I am rubbish when it comes to bodycare. I either forget to do it, or just can’t be bothered. But to try and make an effort, I bought this to see if I could get into a better routine.

What is it?

An oil for your body, which comes in a handy spray bottle. It promises to moisturise, relieve and repair dry skin.

What Do I Think?

Let’s start with the good. This felt super nice on the skin. For an oil, it wasn’t too heavy or greasy and it absorbed really well. It always left my skin feeling super soft and hydrated and I really felt it retained the moisture for a long time.

I also really liked the spray applicator. It made it so much easier to use because you could spray it all over your body and then massage it in. A little also goes a long way so you don’t need to douse yourself in it. A couple of sprays here and there are enough.

It contains Oat & Jojoba Oil which are rich in lipids and fatty acids to restore the skin barrier, making it an excellent choice for those with very dry skin.

What I didn’t like about this was the smell of it. It has a very strong sweet, coconut like scent. I’m not opposed to fragrance in skincare, but when I used this it was all I could smell the entire night and next day. The scent also transferred to my clothes and bedsheets, so I felt I could never ever escape from it. It was just way too overpowering for my liking.

I ended up passing it onto my mum who I believe likes it. This would definitely be for you if you have super dry skin on your body, and you don’t mind a strong lingering scent.

Brands Product Description

Key Ingredients

  • Collodial Oatmeal – has moisturising properties that help prevent water loss from the skin.

How I Use It

I’d use this in the evening after a shower. I’d spray on my arms, legs, chest, back and then massage in.

Would I Repurchase/Buy?

This was a pass for me. The smell was too overpowering and doesn’t fade. I don’t mind a scented body product, but I don’t want one that lingers, and this lingers pretty much until your next shower.

How Much?

£9.29 for 200ml
