Winter wreaks havoc on my skin. It’s already considerably dry and dehydrated, but when winter sets in the central heating and cold weather exemplifies this. When it comes to winter skincare, I reach for gentler, hydrating, barrier repairing products and here are a few I’ve been reaching for this winter.

Super Facialist Vitamin C+ Brighten Skin Renew Cleansing Oil

Oil cleansers are fantastic for dry winter skin. They provide nourishment and hydration and cleanse gently. I really like this offering from Super Facialist. It contains a blend of nourishing oils and leaves my skin feeling clean, but incredibly hydrated and moisturised. It’s budget friendly but even more so given how long this will last.

Banish Dark Spot Corrector Vitamin C Serum

This is an oil-based Vitamin C Serum which helps brighten, fade dark spots and moisturise. It’s got a light-weight oil texture, so it’s perfect for layering under or over other skincare products.  I like this for achieving a glow – the finish on the skin is really nice and it makes my skin feel moisturised.

1611 Labs 360 Barrier Repair Treatment Serum

Barrier Repair treatments are a staple in my routine all year round, but this year I really liked using this one. This contains Omegas 3, 6 and 9 in addition to Niacinamide, Squalane, and Ceramides along with a host of other ingredients. Pretty much everything you need to help restore and maintain a healthy skin barrier. It’s soothing, hydrating and calming.

Cultured Biomecare Biome One Rich Cream

This is rich, but also quite lightweight moisturiser which helps replenish, strengthen and support the skin barrier. I like this for daytime use, since it’s moisturising but not too heavy on the skin which means I can layer a sunscreen on top and not feel like I’ve got too much on my face.

Kate Somerville DeliKate Recovery Cream

A year-round staple for me, but even more so in winter. I’ve posted about this so many times, but it’s a moisturiser you use when your skin just wants immediate comfort and nourishment. It’s so worth a try if your skin is feeling dry, but also fantastic to have in your stash when you’ve overdone the actives and irritated your skin.

SOS SPF50 Moisturising Sun Cream

I’ve used this for a few years now, and I’ve always loved it. This is for you if you want a moisturising sun cream. Although the texture isn’t a fluid texture, which is usually my preference when it comes to sunscreen, it manages to strike the right line of being thick enough to be moisturising but does not in anyway feel greasy or leave a horrible finish on the skin.

What skincare has gotten you through this winter season?
