What is it?
This is an gel to oil balm with SPF10 protection designed to shield your lips from UV damage, hydrate, moisturise and provide a glossy finish.
What Do I Think?
Lip Protection Essence is formulated with Athletia’s Energetic Complex made up of Angelica Keiskei Leaf/Stem Extract, Perilla Ocymoides Leaf Extract, Rice Ferment Filtrate and Glycerin. It also contains Sodium Hyaluronate and Jojoba Seed Oil for maximum hydration.
It feels incredibly nourishing and hydrating on the lips and it instantly relieves any dryness. With the colder weather looming, it’ll be a great addition to your handbag to keep your lips hydrated.
It has a beautiful scent which includes fragrance notes of lemon, grapefruit, lime, lemongrass and rosemary.
It’s too glossy for my liking during the day, but if you like a gloss finish on your lips this would be really nice. I tend to use it at night as a hydrating lip treatment. You can wear this over or under lipstick if you want to give your lips a gloss-like finish.
Would I recommend?
If you like a glossy lip balm then this is definitely one for you.

How I Use It
I personally use this at night as an overnight lip treatment. If you like a glossy finish, you can use this any time of the day, and underneath or on top of lipstick if that’s your thing.
Would I Repurchase/Buy?
I probably wouldn’t repurchase the Athletia Lip Protection Essence. Not because it’s bad – purely because I prefer a less glossy finish when it comes to lip balms.
