JVN Hair Review

JVN Hair

I needed some new haircare products at the end of last year and was placing a SpaceNK order when I decided to pick up some of the new(ish) JVN Hair products. I’d seen them getting praise on Social Media, so I decided to give them a try.

JVN Hair is a brand created by Jonathan Van Ness who wanted to create haircare that is effective hair based around their key ingredient – Hemisqualane. Hemisqualane, is created through a bio fermentation process using sustainable sugarcane. It penetrates the hair shaft, providing nourishment while reducing frizz and promoting hair health.

My hair can get a little bit dry, so I opted for the hydrating products.

JVN Hair Nurture Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner

These both make my hair feel incredibly hydrated and soft, and give my hair a glossiness that I really like.  They are scented with Lemon, Black Currant, Sandalwood, Vanilla and White Orchid, which leaves my hair smelling nice, but isn’t overpowering.   I really love the pump packaging – it’s so convenient and easy to use in the shower.

The Shampoo contains Panthenol to restore shine and Aloe Leaf Juice to hydrating in addition to the Hemisqualane. It lathers up beautifully and my hair feels super clean after just one use, without leaving any residue.

The Conditioner contains Camellia Seed Oil for added moisture and Amino Acids for additional hydration as well as their key ingredient Hemisqualane. It rinses easily, and doesn’t leave my hair feeling weighed down or greasy post wash – just soft, hydrated and glossy.

JVN Hair Complete Conditioning Mist

I heat style my hair practically every day, so I like to use something that can protect my hair from the heat. This protects the hair from UV Rays and heat up to 232˚C.  In addition to the heat protection, it deeply moisturises, tames frizz and provides a glossy finish.

You can use this on dry or wet hair, but my preference is to apply it to wet hair.  The only bad bit of feedback I have is that the mist on this is a little hose-like for my liking, so I prefer to spray it into my hands and then massage into my hair rather than spray directly into my hair.

Sometimes I actually just use this to style my hair because I like the finish so much.

Have you tried anything from JVN?
