I’ve tried pretty much everything from Kate Somerville but one product I hadn’t got round to was the Kate Somerville Age Arrest Anti-Wrinkle Cream.
What is it?
Age Arrest is your anti-ageing serum and moisturiser in one step.
What Do I Think?
It uses Telo-5 Technology, based around the Nobel Prize winning medical research on telomeres, to help soften the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. They’ve also packed it with a peptide to stimulate collagen production, Laminaria Kelp Extract which works with the skin’s natural Hyaluronic Acid to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and Sea Whip Extract and Algae Plasma for soothing.
It has a beautiful moisturising texture. It’s less rich than the DeliKate Recovery Cream, but more rich than the Total Repair Cream or PeptideK8. The texture hits the mark for me since I can use it either morning or evening. It’s not too heavy for daytime use, but also not too lightweight if you prefer a more comforting night cream.
In terms of results, I found that with continued use my skin felt and looked plumper, more firm and youthful. The results weren’t quite as good as the Total Repair Cream, which is my favourite Kate Somerville moisturiser, but they were close enough for me to be happy.
I feel that what Kate Somerville products do well, in particular the moisturisers, is give you fantastic results with no down time. Age Arrest does a brilliant job of giving you visible results, and there’s absolutely no irritation.
The scent is really unique. I can’t quite place exactly what it is, but it’s almost a little bit minty? It doesn’t linger for long once absorbed, but I grew to really like it after initially not being very sure.
As with most Kate Somerville Moisturisers, it comes in a convenient fresh-press jar which dispenses the correct amount of product each time.
Would I recommend?
Yes – especially if you want an ‘anti-ageing’ moisturiser with no downtime.
