Tatcha The Rice Wash Review

Tatcha The Rice Wash

I’d been wanting to try Tatcha The Rice Wash since it finally became available in the UK.  I saw a little travel-sized set that contained it along with the Dewy Skin Cream when I was shopping in SpaceNK and picked one up as a little birthday treat last year.

What is it?

A moisturising cream cleanser designed to leave the skin clean and hydrated whilst boosting radiance.

What Do I Think?

From the first time I used it, I fell in love. It reminds me somewhat of my beloved Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cleanser in the sense that they’re both luxurious creamy cleansers that softly foam when massaged into damp skin.

What makes the Tatcha different is at first it’s a little bit gritty, but the gritty feeling melts away the more you massage. The gritty feeling comes from the Rice Powder, which is one of Tatcha’s signature ingredients and is great for softening and boosting luminosity of the skin.

There’s no doubt that this is a moisturising cleanser. It has never left my skin feeling stripped or dehydrated after use, just soft, comfortable, moisturised and clean. For me, this was good enough on its own that I didn’t feel the need to double cleanse.  I love that it easily rinsed away, leaving no residue.

It costs a pretty penny, but definitely worth a try if you’re after a luxurious treat. I’d recommend picking it up in one of the Travel-Sized Discovery Duo sets they sell.  The travel-sized version lasts a surprisingly long time, because you only need a small amount to get an effective cleanse.

Would I recommend?

Yes! If it’s in your price range, give it a try. You could even try it if you love the Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cleanser and want to try something that will give you a similar experience.
