Some form of exfoliation is key to a good skincare routine. We all want the glow that comes from exfoliation. And with it being winter, we really want to get rid of the dead skin cells to allow our hydrating products to penetrate. Exfoliation can also aid with providing an even skin tone, by helping to fade hyperpigmentation.

The key when it comes to exfoliation is to not do it too often. I will typically exfoliate anywhere from once a week up to three times a week, depending on how my skin feels.

I love exfoliating serums because they are usually formulated to be slow-releasing, which means you get results without the irritation.

Stratia Soft Touch AHA* – $16

This is a gentle, but effective exfoliating serum which contains 10% Mandelic Acid, Chamomile Extract and Allantoin. The ingredients work harmoniously together to gently exfoliate, soothe the skin and moisturise.

Kate Somerville KateCeuticals Resurfacing Overnight Peel – £84

Kate Somerville banished the myth that you can’t formulate Retinol and Glycolic Acid together by releasing this. This will give you the smooth, glowing, glassy looking skin we all desire overnight. It’s hydrating enough to be used on its own at night. Niacinamide, Ceramides & Vitamin E play their part in the formulation to nourish and prevent irritation.

L’Oreal Paris Revitalift 10% Pure Glycolic Acid* – £24.99

This is great if you need a quick fix when your skin is looking a little dull and needs a refresh. I personally like to use this in the evening and then wake up with fresh, soft, glowing skin.

Sachi Skin Complexion Clarifying Accelerator* – £63

A powerful yet kind-to-skin exfoliator that tackles breakouts and hyperpigmentation, while supporting the skin barrier. Created with a blend of Dioic, Mandelic, Salicylic and Pomegranate Enzymes in a gel-cream base, it helps brighten, retexture, hydrate and clarify the skin.

Sunday Riley Good Genes – £70

A total classic. The Glycolic Acid deeply exfoliates and reveals brighter skin. It helps decongest and repair sun damaged skin. Also available in the US in a Lactic Acid version.

What exfoliating serum are you loving?
