The Inkey List Tripeptide Plumping Lip Balm

The Inkey List The Inkey List Tripeptide Plumping Lip Balm had an incredibly hyped launch when it came out last year (or earlier this year… they’re all merging into one!).

What is it?

A moisturising and hydrating lip balm designed to intensely hydrate the lips. It contains peptides to help increase lip volume.

What Do I Think?

Peptides lip balms are really having a moment. I think pretty much every brand is having a crack at releasing their own. The one from The Inkey List stood out because of the impressive clinical trials. It promises to plump lips up to 40% in just 4 weeks. And there are plenty of before and after shots online to prove it.

The science behind this lip balm is that it contains a 6% Tripeptide Complex which help stimulate collagen and increase lip volume. There’s also 2% Ultra Filling Spheres which are little balls packed with hyaluronic acid which burst when applied, which intensely moisturise and hydrate the lips, helping to plump out fine lines and wrinkles. There’s also a host of fatty acids and plant oils to moisturise.

This has an oily feel to it and is slightly grainy at first due to the Ultra Filling Spheres.  The graininess goes away when you start to massage it in.  It leaves your lips feeling extremely moisturised and hydrated.

Due to the glossy finish, I use this just before bed only. Though if you like a glossy finish, you can easily use this in place of a lip gloss, or to add a glossy finish to whatever product you want to wear on your lips. They’ve recently launched tinted versions too!

I’ve been using this nightly for around 3 weeks now, and I do feel like my lips are looking so much healthier. I have quite full lips anyway, so I’m not sure I’ve seen much plumping personally, but I have noticed lines on my lips are much less prominent.

Overall, I enjoy the experience using this. It’s fantastic as an overnight lip treatment and keep my lips feeling moisturised and soft.  It costs £11.00, and will be a definite repurchase for me.
