Geek and Gorgeous – where affordability but extremely good skincare meet. The Geek & Gorgeous Happier Barrier moisturiser is such a fantastic cream to use in your routine, and here’s why.

What is it?

A moisturising, hydrating and nourishing cream that focuses on restoring maintaining a healthy skin barrier.

What Do I Think?

Creams that focus on maintaining a healthy skin barrier tend to be my go to on nights when I’m using an exfoliant or retinoid. I want something that’s going to really replenish and moisturise my skin to minimise any irritation that come sometimes occur from using strong actives.

The Geek & Gorgeous Happier Barrier has been formulated exactly for this. It’s one of the most moisturising creams I’ve ever used, yet manages to be quite lightweight.

The ingredients list has everything you could want for moisture and soothing. You have Squalane, Ceramides, Green Tea Extract, Allantoin and Bisabolol.

Whilst a lot of people would recommend using this when your barrier feels impaired, I actually think you should use it before it even gets to that point. Using this in your routine will help keep your barrier strong, which means that you’re less likely to get irritation in the first place.

It’s interesting that on their website they say this may not be enough for very dry skin. I personally, do have very dry skin, especially in the winter, and I found it sufficient enough for my skin, but it’s something to be mindful of.

Would I recommend?

Yes. I think a lot of people will enjoy this one, whether you’re dry, normal or combination. People with oily skin might prefer this as a nighttime moisturiser.
