Skin Proud Icicle Cooling Eye Balm is designed to do exactly as it says – refresh, tighten and cool the under eye area.
What Do I Think?
Initially, I thought this meant it was going to have a ‘minty’ feeling once applied to the skin. I’m pleased to report that this is not the case – it manages to have the cooling effect without that ‘minty’ feeling.
The key Ingredients in this one are Hyaluronic Acid for hydration, Cica Extract for soothing irritated skin and Tocopherol for barrier repair and protection from free radical damage.
I love the application of this. It comes as a stick you twist up (a bit like a lip balm or lipstick), and you can apply it directly under the eyes. This makes it extremely handy for travel, or for popping into your bag and using throughout the day.
There’s a cooling sensation when applied which really helps your eye area feel more awake. The product itself has a balm-like consistency which feels really quite hydrating when applied. Over the course of the day, it does have a firming/depuffing effect on the under eye area. Dark circles, however, aren’t reduced by much – you’ll want a concealer for that. Speaking of which, Skin Proud say you can use this over your make up if you needed to.
Would I recommend?
Yes, mainly for a quick refresh/hydration boost to the undereye area, it works. If dark circles are your concerns, a good concealer would be the way to go.
