We all know by now that I’m a lover of pretty much all the Trinny London skincare, and perhaps the only product I hadn’t tried was the Energise Me Niacinamide Moisturiser. I’m obsessed with the Bounce Back Moisturiser, which is more suited to my drier skin, so I didn’t feel the need to rush out and buy this when it launched at the same time. But, a sale happened, and not being one to be able to resist a discount, I picked it up to try it.
What is it?
Energise Me is a rebalancing, brightening and soothing gel-cream hybrid.
What Do I Think?
Trinny London Energise Me contains Niacinamide which is a super-ingredient that balances oil production, evens skin tone, and strengthens the skin barrier. Alongside the Niacinamide, you have Succinic Acid and Hyaluronic Acid which hydrates and plumps, giving increased radiance. Finally, Cica has been added to aid the skins recovery post-breakout thanks to its soothing and calming properties.
It feels lightweight and airy on the skin – perfect for the summer, or for those of you with oily/combination skins. The finish is lovely, leaving the skin with a nice, subtle glow — nothing too shiny or greasy, just healthy and fresh.
For my drier skin, it offers just the right amount of moisture during the summer months, but wouldn’t be enough for me during the colder times of the year. I’ve found it layers nicely with other serums and sunscreen. The Trinny London sunscreen – named See The Light – works perfectly with this, though it also works great with some more budget-friendly sunscreens I like to use.
This wouldn’t be my personal choice as a night-time moisturiser – I prefer something thicker and more nourishing. But for day time, it hydrates, it refreshes, gives a glow and I’d imagine it would look brilliant under makeup. I think it’s great for days when my skin needs a little bit of a pick-me-up (perhaps after too many late nights) since it seems to live up to its energising claims.
Would I recommend?
I think if you’re on the normal to oily side, you will really enjoy this. If you’re drier like me, you may prefer this during the warmer weather but seek something more nourishing during the colder months.

How I Use It

Would I Repurchase/Buy?
Yes, but only for summer. I’d carry on using Bounce Back the rest of the year.
