Transitional Skincare for Autumn

Autumn is calling, and with the change in season, it’s time to tweak your skincare routine. As the weather cools, I like to swap the lightweight textures of summer for something a bit more nourishing.

My core serums – Vitamin C and a hydrating serum in the morning, plus retinoid and peptide serums at night – stay the same. But the supporting players like cleansers, moisturisers, and SPF get a refresh, with a few extras if needed. Here’s what I’m reaching for this autumn:

🍂 A Nourishing Cleanser

As the first step in your routine, a more nourishing cleanser makes all the difference. I love Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cleanser – gentle, hydrating, and doesn’t strip the skin.

🍂 A Hydrating Mist

For an instant hydration boost, I swear by Curel Deep Moisture Spray. Packed with ceramides, it helps maintain the skin’s moisture barrier.

🍂 A Barrier-Strengthening Serum

Cold weather can weaken your skin’s barrier, leading to dryness. The Geek & Gorgeous Stress Less Serum repairs and strengthens for a healthier, more hydrated complexion.

🍂 A Facial Oil

If your skin is extra dry, a facial oil can be a game-changer. I’m loving REN Evercalm Barrier Support Elixir for locking in moisture and soothing irritation.

🍂 A Rich Moisturiser

Most of us naturally switch up our moisturiser in autumn. I’ll be using Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturiser – nourishing, calming, and perfect for all skin types.

🍂 A Moisturising Sunscreen

Yes, you still need SPF in autumn! A hydrating yet lightweight sunscreen like Torriden Dive In Moisture Sun Cream is ideal for this time of year.

What do you switch in your skincare routine as we move into autumn?
