Alongside glycolic acid, it contains silk proteins to help lock in moisture by preventing transepidermal water loss, so it’s not as drying as you might expect. Now, let’s clear up a common misconception—Liquid Gold isn’t your typical exfoliating toner. This is a treatment, designed to be used solo without layering anything under or on top, including moisturiser. Personally, my dry skin needs that extra bit of hydration, so I break the rules and use it more like a serum, following with a light moisturiser.
To apply, soak a cotton pad with Liquid Gold and sweep it over clean skin. If you’re sensitive, try dampening the pad first to dilute the strength a little. Immediately, you’ll feel a smoother complexion. And with regular use, breakouts become less frequent, fine lines are softened, pigmentation fades, and skin feels noticeably refined.
Would I recommend?
Absolutely. As I’ve previously said, it’s iconic for a reason. If you’re quite sensitive, you might want to tread carefully. My partner, who has sensitive skin, can use it without any issues but he only uses it around 2 times a week.
