I’ve been a fan of Dr Sam Bunting’s skincare range for a while now. Everything I’ve tried has been a bit of a winner, so naturally, I was excited to get my hands on the Dr Sam Bunting Flawless Brightly Serum. It’s a daytime multitasking serum that promises a lot – and, spoiler alert, it delivers.

What is it?

Dr Sam Bunting Flawless Brightly Serum is a day-time serum which promises to even out skin-tone, calm bumps and clears pores.

What Do I Think?

Straight out of the gate, the ingredients list reads like a skincare lover’s dream team: Azelaic Acid, Niacinamide, Vitamin C, and Bakuchiol. These are powerhouse actives that tackle everything you’d want from a daytime serum – uneven skin tone, redness, pigmentation, clogged pores, breakouts, and dullness.

I had a hunch I’d like this, but even so, it exceeded my expectations. After just a couple of weeks, I noticed my redness, particularly on my cheeks and around my nose, had visibly calmed. Old pigmentation marks (those annoying ghosts of breakouts past) began to fade, and my skin looked and felt smoother and brighter. Crucially, I’m breaking out far less, which is no small thing as we head into Christmas party season, when my skin is usually up to no good.

I’d go so far as to say this is one of the most versatile, effective serums on the market. It’s gentle enough for all skin types and brilliant as a standalone product if you like to keep things simple. Oily types might even find this hydrating enough to double as a moisturiser, but for my drier skin, I layer it under a moisturiser for a bit of extra comfort. Whatever your skin type, though, do remember your sunscreen during the day – these ingredients mean business, and sun protection is non-negotiable.

Another bonus: it’s ridiculously economical. You only need half a pump for your face and neck, so the bottle will last ages. The brand suggests starting with half a pump and building to a full pump once your skin adjusts, but honestly, I find a full pump a bit much – it’s surprisingly spreadable.

Would I recommend?

All in all, I’m seriously impressed with this serum and fully expect it to become a repeat purchase.
