No7 Protect & Perfect Sunscreens Review

No7 Protect & Perfect Sunscreens

No7 make some of my favourite high street skincare products, so I was keen to see how their Protect & Perfect facial sunscreens measured up. They offer both SPF30 and SPF50 versions, plus tinted options if that’s your thing.

Straight off the bat – if you have oily skin, I don’t think these will be for you. They’re thick creams, very much in the style of old-school sunscreens, rather than the newer, ultra-lightweight formulas many of us now prefer. But if you’ve got dry skin, like me, you might get on well with them.

As with most No7 skincare, they’ve packed these with Matrixyl 3000, a peptide blend designed to soften fine lines and firm the skin, so you’re getting a little added skincare benefit alongside sun protection.

Both formulas feel nicely hydrating, so much so that I often skip moisturiser when using them – especially in warm weather. Neither leaves a white cast, which is always a plus, but there is a definite shine – which may border on greasy for some. If you love a dewy finish, you’ll be fine. If you prefer something more matte, this might not be for you.

There’s also the classic sunscreen scent. Personally, I don’t mind – it reminds me of holidays – but if you’re sensitive to fragrance, it’s worth noting.

Overall? I like them, but they’re not my go-to. I prefer something lighter for everyday use, but I can see these working well on holiday when you want hydration and SPF in one.

Have you tried them? What’s your go-to SPF?
