Peptide serums, particularly those featuring copper peptides, are undeniably having a moment in the skincare spotlight. Geek & Gorgeous joined the trend last year with the launch of Power Peptides, their take on this powerhouse category.

What is it?

Geek & Gorgeous Power Peptides is a silky, milky serum boasting four advanced peptide technologies at clinically proven percentages.

What Do I Think?

Its formula includes Matrixyl 3000, Matrixyl Synthe’6, TEGO® PEP 4-17, and encapsulated Copper Palmitoyl Heptapeptide-14. Together, these ingredients aim to firm the skin, reduce fine lines, promote even skin tone, and stimulate collagen and hyaluronic acid production for a bouncier, more elastic complexion.

Interestingly, despite the inclusion of a copper peptide, this serum isn’t the striking blue shade many of us associate with similar products. This is due to the low yet effective concentration of Copper Palmitoyl Heptapeptide-14 and its encapsulated form – Geek & Gorgeous has stuck precisely to the manufacturer’s recommendations, ensuring efficacy without unnecessary gimmicks.

The texture is an absolute joy to use: lightweight, milky, and easy to spread, delivering a moderate dose of hydration. On my dry skin, I found it most effective when layered with a more hydrating product, but those with normal to oily skin may find it perfectly sufficient on its own.

As for performance, I was impressed. Power Peptides rivalled pricier peptide serums I’ve tried, showing noticeable improvement in the deeper lines on my forehead and fine lines around my eyes. I loved layering it with my retinoid serum or pairing it with a barrier repair serum on non-retinoid nights. A single bottle lasted me around four months of daily use, making the £15.25 price tag exceptional value.

The beauty of peptides is their universal appeal. Non-irritating and suitable for all skin types, they’re a fantastic choice for those with sensitive skin or anyone who struggles to tolerate retinoids. Power Peptides is an accessible, affordable option that delivers on its promises without breaking the bank – a gem in the Geek & Gorgeous lineup.

Would I recommend?

If you’re looking to dip your toe into peptides or simply want to add a solid performer to your skincare arsenal, Power Peptides is a brilliant place to start. Sometimes, a product comes along that just quietly gets the job done, and this is one of them.
