A proper standout launch from Deviant Skincare. The new Deviant Skincare Retinal Clarity Serum has been four years in the making and it shows.
What is it?
A skincare serum which promises to address blemishes, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and visible signs of aging in one powerful step.
What Do I Think?
Formulated with 0.05% encapsulated retinaldehyde and 1% time-released salicylic acid, it’s designed to tackle breakouts, pigmentation and early signs of ageing in one go. Cleverly done, it resurfaces and smooths without disrupting or upsetting your barrier.
Where most blemish treatments go in hard and leave my already dry skin feeling drier, this one takes a more considered approach. Niacinamide and hexylresorcinol help brighten and even tone, while patented actives Polysyline and Diglucosyl Gallic Acid support the microbiome and calm the skin. Ideal if you’re dealing with hormonal breakouts or inflammation.
This is one for those who wan to manage congestion, pigmentation and fine lines all at once.
I’ve been using it for a few weeks and, as someone with dry skin, was wary of the salicylic acid because my skin can sometimes find it a bit too drying. But so far, no flaking and no tightness.
Deviant doesn’t launch often, but when it does, it launches well. This is a brilliant, balanced formula for skin that wants clarity.
Would I recommend?
Yes, especially if you are prone to breakouts.
