When The Ordinary expanded into haircare, I was curious. Their no-nonsense approach to skincare has earned them a cult following, so when I spotted their Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density in London, I picked up a bottle. My hair isn’t drastically thinning, but I’ve noticed a little less fullness over time, and this promises thicker, healthier-looking hair – so why not?
Formulated with peptides, which are said to support hair growth, and plant-based extracts for scalp health, the science behind it is sound. It’s a water-based serum, meaning zero greasiness, and it’s completely unscented – so no worries about any weird product smell lingering in your hair.
Application is straightforward: a few drops onto a clean, dry scalp daily. Personally, I found this a bit inconvenient. I wash my hair daily, and I’d much rather apply a serum straight out of the shower while my scalp is still damp. Having to wait until it was dry felt like an extra step I didn’t love.

I used it consistently for three months, but if I’m being completely honest – I didn’t see much difference. I know plenty of people have had amazing results, but for me, it just didn’t seem to make an impact.
At £20.80, it’s not extortionate, and it could be worth a go if hair loss or thinning is a concern. Results will always vary from person to person, so you might have better luck. I actually picked mine up in a sale for £12, so if you’re on the fence, it’s worth keeping an eye out for discounts.
