If you’re perennially parched, or your face has ever felt like sandpaper after a run-in with too many acids, then let me introduce your skin’s new best mate – Naturium Barrier Bounce. Easily one of my favourite finds this year, and one I’d now wouldn’t be without.
What is it?
An oil-serum hybrid designed to support a healthy skin barrier and plump and hydrate the skin.
What Do I Think?
This is a pure hydration booster. It’s a proper treatment for dry, tight, or barrier-compromised ski. Rich without being greasy, nourishing but still cosmetically elegant. Think of it as an oil-serum hybrid, cleverly packed with 2% urea (a gentle humectant that also softens skin), 5% squalane (fast-absorbing and skin-identical), and a ceramide complex designed to reinforce the barrier and prevent moisture loss. Add to that Salicornia Herbacea Extract, a natural hydrator that boosts the skin’s own urea production, and you’ve got a formula that intensely hydrates and soothes.
The finish is gloriously dewy and the texture is milky and silky. I’ve used it both as a classic serum under moisturiser, and as a final glow-giver over the top of everything else. Both ways work beautifully, but on lazy or dehydrated days, it’s punchy enough to stand alone as both serum and moisturiser in one.
It really came into its own over winter, when my skin was battling the colder weather and dry central heating. But it’s equally welcome now, when skin needs to look plump and radiant under SPF. For anyone with dry skin that often veers into the dull and lifeless, this gives that covetable glassy finish without the usual greasiness.
Do give it a good shake before use since the formula can separate slightly, but that’s a minor quibble in an otherwise superb, relatively affordable formula that performs far above its price point.
Would I recommend?
Absolutley. If you’re barrier is impaired from using too many actives, or you want to prevent a damaged barrier in the first place, or even if your skin is just dry and dull, it’s one you should totally try. It’s certainly one I’m going to be keeping in my skincare wardrobe for certain.
