Every brand has its underrated gems, and in the case of Trinny London, it’s undoubtedly Lip Treat. This buttery balm is a saviour for parched, chapped lips, combining serious nourishment with an elegant, understated finish.
What is it?
A lightweight, fluid sunscreen with SPF50 designed for the face.
What Do I Think?
The formula is a masterclass in hydration, featuring shea butter, jojoba, and sunflower oils to comfort even the driest lips, while hyaluronic acid delivers a welcome boost of plumpness and moisture. What sets it apart for me is the finish – not overly glossy or sticky but a chic satin effect that feels luxurious without veering into high-shine territory. It’s perfect for someone like me who craves moisture without looking like I’ve dipped my lips in a vat of oil.
This little pot has found its way into every corner of my life. There’s one on my bedside table, another in my work bag, and one permanently stationed on my desk for those home-working days. Compact enough to tuck into even the smallest clutch but substantial enough to not vanish in the depths of your bag, it’s as practical as it is effective.
The scent is subtle and sweet – familiar but impossible to pin down. If anyone can name it, do let me know, but suffice it to say it’s comforting without being overpowering. The balm itself is deeply hydrating, rarely needing a second application. I especially love slathering on a layer before bed, waking up to the smoothest, most supple lips.
Really, if I had to nitpick, it would be that it comes in a pot instead of a tube or lipstick case. If you’re out and about, you may not want to stick dirty fingers into the buttery goodness and slather on your lips. But a quick spritz of hand sanitiser before use litigates the matter.
Would I recommend?
Yes, if you love the idea of a luxurious lip balm, and one that’s pocket-friendly, it’s worth a try.
